Mark Del Vecchio DE Army National Guard

Mark Del Vecchio graduated from Dover High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business from Delaware State University and his Masters in Homeland Security from Wilmington University. Mark began his professional career working with low-income and minority farmers to improve their agricultural operations and build sustainable business models. He moved on to manage the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve where he helped preserve and protect critical Delaware species and habitat.

Mark joined the Delaware Army National Guard straight out of high school and has been on active duty since 2006. As a Brigade Operations Sergeant, he oversees the operation of an 800-man battalion which consists of Engineer, Transportation, Maintenance and Military Police units. In his current role, he ensures that each unit is ready for use during emergencies both in the State of Delaware and for Federal missions abroad. Mark has deployed twice to the Middle East and has served short tours at home along the Arizona Border and Gulfport Mississippi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He has been the Delaware Soldier of the Year and been awarded the SBI Duncan Award for Leadership. Mark looks forward to continuing to serve and protect the citizens of Delaware.
Mark stays active in his community and has worked with several nonprofits such as the Friends of Fort DuPont, the Delaware Enlisted Association, the Holy Cross School Board and the Dover Chapter of the Sons of Italy. He is currently serving as a Scoutmaster in his local Boy Scouts of America Troop. Mark lives in Dover with his wife and three children.
