Tim Kim was born in Alexandria, Virginia but has lived the last 30 years in Delaware. Tim is a graduate of Glasgow High School and holds a BA in History and an MA in Counseling in Higher Education from the University of Delaware. He specializes in international student support as Assistant Director at the University of Delaware’s English Language Institute (ELI), one of the largest and most successful Intensive English Programs in the United States. His position manages the unit that handles all aspects of student life for over 500 ELI students from over 30 different countries. He has led multiple campus initiatives for the integration of international students to the Newark campus, including Art Bridging Cultures and the American Host Partner Program. Tim also serves on multiple committees including the University of Delaware’s Global Recruitment and Retention Committee and the Violence Against Women’s Act Subcommittee for Underrepresented Populations.
Previously, he has held roles at the University as an Academic Advisor in the University Studies department and as a videographer for a private design firm. In addition to his professional roles, Tim serves on the Delaware Korean Festival Committee which orchestrates the largest gathering for Korean culture in the state of Delaware. He resides in Newark and enjoys photography and travel in his free time.
