David Ripsom Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (NEIL), Ret.
David Ripsom joined Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (NEIL) in September 1994. He became President and CEO in June 2006. From 1994 to 2004, David served as Vice President & General Counsel responsible for all legal matters pertaining to the Company. Additional responsibilities included management of the claims function, external communications and participation in various strategic planning and project activities. In 2004, he became Senior Vice President and General Counsel with the Vice President’s of Insurance and International also reporting to him.
Prior to joining NEIL, David was a partner at Duane, Morris and Heckscher, LLP, specializing in business and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, banking and insurance law, private placement, franchising, and Delaware corporate law. David received a Juris Doctorate from University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at Duke University Fuqua School of Business and Reactor Technology Program for Utility Executives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
David’s current and recent selected Board Memberships include Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (retired), Overseas NEIL Limited -as Chairman (retired), Delaware Charter Guarantee & Trust Company d/b/a Principal Trust Company (retired), Mom’s House, Inc. of Delaware, and the Board of Trustees for Ursuline Academy (retired). He is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Delaware Leadership Prayer Breakfast, serves as President of the Catholic Charities Appeal for the Diocese of Philadelphia, and is on the Cranaleith President’s Advisory Council. In addition, David was Co-Chairman for the 1997 Governor’s Celebration of Education.
