Jonathan Horner, Esq. serves as the General Counsel for the Schell Brothers and Ocean Atlantic family of companies. In addition to his role as General Counsel, Jon is Of Counsel with the law firm of Neuberger, Quinn, Gielen, Rubin & Gibber P.A where his practice focuses on complex transactions involving the finance, acquisition, sale, lease and development of commercial real estate properties of all asset types. Jon has particular experience in structuring and closing sophisticated commercial real estate financing including CMBS financing, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, mezzanine and preferred equity transactions. Prior to joining Schell Brothers and Ocean Atlantic, Jon was the Associate General Counsel for GMF Capital, a large real estate private equity fund as well as an associate in the real estate group of Richards, Layton & Finger in Wilmington.

Jon graduated from Tulane University with a B.S. degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and from Elon University School of Law with a J.D. degree. During law school, Jon served as a clerk to the Honorable Robert N. Hunter, Jr. of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Jon is an avid fisherman and waterfowl hunter and enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter.
