Phillip Castro Delmarva Power and Light
Phillip Castro was born in Baltimore, MD but moved to NJ in his youth. He holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rowan University (2012) and is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at Drexel University. Before finishing College, Phil was offered a job as a system operator for Atlantic City Electric. He finished his degree while working as a system operator. While working for Atlantic City Electric, he held positions as a District Engineer, First Line Supervisor, and District Manager. Phil has been a part of many storm restoration initiatives and has led Exelon crews on multiple Mutual assistance trips to Florida, Chicago, Texas, Louisiana, and West Virginia.
In 2020 Phil was promoted to the Sr. Manager of System Operations for Delmarva Power & Light (DPL). His team of operators and dispatchers are responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the distribution and transmission system for all of DPL. At DPL he is involved in numerous Employee Resource groups but serves as the DPL President of the Organization of Latinos at Exelon (OLE). This group was established in 2022 for DPL and has quickly developed a relationship with the LACC in Wilmington. Phil is also one of the co-leads on the Latinx Leadership Council for PHI/DPL.
Phil comes from a large family and has 5 brothers and 1 sister. He is married to Ashley, who was his college sweetheart, and they now have two beautiful children, Madison, and Maximus. Most of his time is spent with his family but when there are openings, Phil enjoys snowboarding and golfing.
