
Allison McCowan, Esq. State of Delaware
Allison McCowan, a native Delawarean hailing from Sussex County. She is the Deputy State Solicitor for the State of Delaware. Allison is a graduate of Norwich University with a B.S. degree in Psychology and Education and received her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. Allison started her legal career clerking for then President Judge James T. Vaughn, Jr. of the Delaware Superior Court and, following her clerkship, was an attorney at Saul Ewing working on general commercial matters. In her current role, Allison practices in federal courts, advocating for consumers and merchants in numerous industries, including pharmaceuticals, municipal securities, banking and transportation. Allison is also the chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Delaware State Bar Association which enables her work closely with leaders in the legal industry to advocate for young lawyer related issues. In addition to her work and involvement in the legal community, Allison is passionate about improving Wilmington through politics (she was involved in Mayor Purzycki’s campaign) and education.
