Benjamin W. Feldmann New Castle County Police

Captain Benjamin (Ben) Feldmann is a lifelong New Castle County resident; a graduate of Wilmington Friends School and graduate of the University of Delaware school of Agricultural Sciences. Captain Feldmann began his career with the New Castle County Division of Police in 2002. Captain Feldmann has served in every division of the police department during his career and has served as the commander of both the Uniformed Services Division and the Grants, Technology and Special Projects Division, and now serves as Captain, Criminal Investigations Unit.

Captain Feldmann served in the Special Operations Division as the Gang intelligence Detective and a member FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Captain Feldmann has received extensive training on gangs, gang intelligence, gang investigations, international and domestic terrorism and hate groups from numerous state and federal agencies.

Captain Feldmann is a certified police instructor and has provided gang and terrorism training to law enforcement personnel, private industry, health care facilities, schools and other government entities. Captain Feldmann continues to serve as an instructor at the New Castle County Police Academy, and is an instructor for the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Program.

Captain Feldmann has received supervisory and leadership training from Penn State University, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, Leadership Delaware and the Police Executive Research Forum. Captain Feldmann received the Chief Harry Wilde award from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police in 2012, is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Delaware, received the FBI LEEDA Trilogy award in 2016, is a 2016 graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police and is a 2017 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
