A native of Syracuse, New York, William Hickox was recruited to Delaware in 1996 to work in state government. During his tenure, he has worked through three administrations and had successful stints in 3 different State Departments including the Department of Transportation where he was Director of Operations for Delaware Transit Corporation, the Department of Technology and Information where he was Chief Operating Officer, and the Department of Education as Education Associate for Finance responsible for procurement, and working with the school districts to ensure ongoing financial stability. After 20 years in Delaware State Government, Bill left to accept a position in the private sector.

Bill is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Advantech, Inc. in Dover. There he is responsible for overseeing all operations including sales, engineering, installation, service, and managed service offerings. An entrepreneur at heart, Bill began investing in real estate in 2001 and started his own business in 2004. In addition to his business ventures, Bill has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance/ Economics at Wilmington University since January 2001 and developed the university’s first course in personal finance. He is also the Vice Chair of the American Red Cross Board of Directors Delmarva Chapter, and a member of the Dover Downtown Rotary Club having previously served as president.
