C.R. McLeod Delaware Department of Transportation
Charles “C.R.” McLeod was born and raised in Wilmington, where he graduated from John Dickinson High School and worked at the local Acme supermarket.
While studying political science at the University of Delaware, he worked for then-Governor Tom Carper’s campaign for United States Senate. Upon graduation, he joined Senator Carper’s staff as a special assistant traveling the state with the senator, supporting communications and special projects. After five years of service, C.R. received the opportunity to join the executive team of then-New Castle County Executive Chris Coons, and served first as an assistant to the communications director and then assumed that role himself, working to communicate the county executive’s agenda.
C.R. has also worked as a Community Services Administrator for New Castle County, where he worked with the administrative team to manage and direct the budget and services delivered by the Department of Community Services. His other professional experience includes working for the Rodel Foundation of Delaware as Communications Director, serving as Chief Community Relations Officer for the Delaware Department of State, and as marketing director at Manion Gaynor & Manning LLP.
C.R. and his wife, Brooke, live in north Wilmington with their four children.
