Dennis Harris entered the nursing profession as his second career. His background in education brings a unique perspective to his role as a health care leader. Today, he serves as the Nurse Manager for the ACE Unit at Christiana Hospital. Prior to entering nursing, he was the Director of Admissions and Marketing at Salesianum School. He holds a degree in Communication from La Salle University and a Masters in Community Health Education from Arcadia University. In 2008, he graduated from Delaware Technical Community College with a degree in Nursing and later completed his nursing education with both BSN and MSN degrees from Wilmington University. He holds nursing certifications in both medical/surgical nursing and gerontology.

In March 2014, he was promoted to Nurse Manager for the Christiana ACE Unit, a 39 bed medical unit specializing in the needs of adults age 70 and older. He has presented nationally on the topic of medication education and the older adult, and has published on the topic of using a team based approach to facilitate a safe early discharge in the acute care setting. He has previous teaching experience teaching both Oral Communication and Technical Writing at Delaware Technical Community College and currently serves as an adjunct nursing faculty for Neumann University. Dennis currently resides in North Wilmington with his wife and three children.
