Glenn C. Kenton has recently retired as a director (partner) of Delaware’s largest law firm, Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A., where he represented many major U.S. corporations, insurance and financial firms doing business in Delaware including General Motors Corporation, American International Group, Nissan, Discover Bank, Caterpillar, JP Morgan Chase, Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo Bank. In Delaware, he represented Christiana Care, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Delaware, Delmarva Power and Wilmington Trust Company/M&T Bank.
Glenn is currently an adviser to Burris Logistics, the 6th largest frozen food distributor on the East Coast with over 1,800 employees at 14 locations in 8 states and Honor Foods, headquartered in Philadelphia.
From 1977 through 1985, Glenn served as Secretary of State of Delaware, overseeing Delaware’s corporation division, the nation’s largest regulator of corporations. While Secretary of State, Glenn was a leader for Delaware’s effort to deregulate the nation’s banking industry, a step that led to the relocation to Delaware of many of the nation’s largest commercial banks. After his tour as Secretary of State, Glenn was Chairman of Gov. Pete du Pont’s Presidential Campaign of 1988.
Glenn is a graduate of Swarthmore College (1965) and Georgetown University Law Center (1968). Glenn is also a member of the Leadership Delaware Advisory Board.
