Héctor Maldonado-Reis Tech Impact

Héctor Maldonado-Reis (he/they) is co-Director at the Data Innovation Lab, Tech Impact. There, they both innovate and implement data science towards improving social good. Prior to joining Tech Impact, Héctor spent a number of years in the research space where his work and interests explored environmentally associated diseases across historically underserved groups. Now, through integrating and analyzing data originating from diverse sources and stakeholders, he strives to incrementally elucidate the differential burden experienced across susceptible populations both locally and nationally.

Maldonado-Reis holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering and MPH in Environmental & Occupational Health both from Rutgers University and an AM in Population Health Sciences from Harvard University. Prior to relocating to Delaware, they were a STEM instructor at Boston Public Schools, where they delivered standard-aligning and culturally relevant instruction to 3rd – 6th graders in coding, robotics, and 3-D printing among schools serving historically underserved students. Héctor was born and raised in Puerto Rico, USA. Their favorite time outside of work is spent on spontaneous road trips, cooking/knitting, and helping their husband practice his Spanish.
