Jeffrey M. Tashner Executive Director, Delaware State Education Association
Jeffrey M. Taschner is the Executive Director for the Delaware State Education Association (“DSEA”). Prior to being named to that position in November, 2012, he served as DSEA’s General Counsel since September, 2000, representing local education associations and their members in employment-related matters. Mr. Taschner also serves as President Elect of the National Council of State Education Associations or NCSEA. He is a former Deputy Attorney General having served both as a criminal prosecutor and counsel to the Delaware State Police.
Mr. Taschner tried a variety of criminal and civil matters in both state and federal courts.
He has also served as the Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Public Safety for the State of Delaware. Throughout his career Mr. Taschner has served on numerous committees and task forces focused on public safety, education, pension and health care issues. He currently is a member of the Statewide Employee Benefits Committee and the Statewide Labor-Management Committee. Mr. Taschner received his B.A. degree in Political Science and History from Dickinson College and his J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law. An avid sports fan, he has coached baseball, basketball (boys and girls) and soccer (girls).
