Keith Hunt Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer / Department of Human Resources, State of Delaware

Keith Hunt serves as the State of Delaware’s first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, overseeing the Department of Human Resources’ Division of Diversity and Inclusion. Keith leads the State's efforts to define and cultivate equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout state government, including the Talent Acquisition function overseeing the States recruitment and employee retention efforts. Having served in several strategic human resources leadership roles throughout his career, Keith has extensive Human Resources experience and proven success in the private and public sectors. He has helped translate business vision and strategy into organizational capabilities for success while focusing on business process improvement, people policy development, change management, people and team development, diversity and inclusion, and human resources talent management systems.

Prior to joining the State of Delaware, Keith held key positions in leading companies, including serving as Chief Human Resources Officer at Electronic Payment Services, Wilmington, DE; Vice President of Human Resources at Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice-Cream, Inc., Waterbury, VT., and with CIGNA, Philadelphia, PA as Assistant Vice President of Employee Relations. In addition, Keith previously worked for the Scott Paper Company, Philadelphia, where he held several key leadership roles including Manager of Organizational Effectiveness, Product System Manufacturing Manager, and Director of Human Resources. Prior to Scott Paper, Keith worked for the Procter & Gamble Company in Cincinnati, OH, as a Senior Organizational Development Consultant responsible for contributing to the development of  the P&G workplace environment; including delivering leadership development training to managers and key business executives across engineering, research and development, and manufacturing organizations. Most recently Keith was Managing Director of Human Capital Solutions, Inc., a human resource change management consultancy focused on diversity and inclusion and leadership development within fortune 500 companies.

Keith originally hails from Washington, DC and holds a master’s degree in Community Planning, from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, OH.  Keith is a certified Lean Practitioner with emphasis on large systems change management and business process improvement.

Keith and his spouse Jackie recently relocated to Hockessin, Delaware from New Jersey, where they spend their spare time entertaining friends, enjoying their art collection and their extensive Jazz and R&B music collection.
