After leading Teach For America Delaware for six years, Laurisa Schutt is the founding Executive Director of First State Educate, First State Action Fund, and Act Together for Kids, a DE-based political action committee. She currently serves on the boards of the St. Andrew’s School, Leadership Delaware, the Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence, the University of Delaware’s College of Education, chairs the board of 4th Dimension Leaders, and
co-chairs the public phase of the Faithful Friends Animal Society’s capital campaign.

Before moving to Delaware, Laurisa worked for seven years in Hong Kong for a Global 500 company, and founded and led an international accessories business devoted to “Bringing the Outside In." She has a B.A. from Harvard University in East Asian Studies and a Masters of Philosophy in Chinese from the University of Cambridge, England.

Laurisa spends her time with her husband Porter, their three daughters, and six dogs.
