Marie Holliday, CPA, MB Managing Director, CPA, Cover & Rossiter

Marie Holliday joined Cover & Rossiter, an award-winning CPA advisory firm, in 1997. Appointed Managing Director in 2016, Marie is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm as well as leading the firm’s tax and advisory services departments. She has guided the firm’s expansion and growth in business segments such as captive insurance, trusts and a new advisory line for growth management consulting which includes services for personal and business planning such as succession planning, budgeting, retirement planning, R&D tax credit, and data analytics. She leads the firm’s “Future Ready” initiative and is focused on creating and adopting innovative ways to operate the business. Marie is committed to developing leaders and advisors within the organization and not just technical experts.

During her tenure as Managing Director, Cover & Rossiter was a 2018 recipient of the Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business award which honors businesses and nonprofits for their outstanding achievements and model approaches to business and management. In addition, Cover & Rossiter was one of five firms selected from across the country to participate in the Private Company Practice Section (PCPS) George Willie Ethnically Diverse Student Scholarship and Internship Program. Marie is a member of the MAP II Group of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a networking group of Managing Directors across the country. The group is designed to be a forum for in-depth practice management discussions and an exchange of best practices. In addition, she serves on the Board of Governors of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and was recently selected to serve on the Professional and Personal Liability Insurance Program Committee for the AICPA. She also is a member of the Delaware State Society of CPAs, Wilmington Tax Group, and Estate Planning Council of Delaware.

A graduate of St. Marks High School and University of Delaware (BA 1988, MBA 2001), Marie has strong roots in the community and believes in “paying it forward” in regards to her commitment to service. She has served as a volunteer on the boards of Newark Day Nursery, UD New Directions Head Start, Newark Morning Rotary, Middletown Chamber of Commerce, and many other organizations.

Marie considers her greatest accomplishment in life as raising three wonderful children with her husband, Al. Her children are Meghan (28), Kristen (26) and AJ (21). She enjoys vacationing with her family in South Bethany, reading and exercising.
