Melinda McGuigan EDiS Company
Melinda is Manager, Business Development of EDiS Company, a family-owned construction management firm established in 1908 in Wilmington, Delaware. Melinda concentrates her efforts on identifying potential opportunities in the private sector in Delaware and the surrounding states. As such, she works with engineers, architects and clients to first build relationships and then projects. In her role at EDiS, McGuigan also supports the EDiS Institute, a biennial forum that explores industry topics, leadership roles and responsibilities and success strategies. Melinda was previously Executive Director of KINfolk, a nationwide charity that provides laptop computers to medically fragile children. She oversaw KINfolk’s expansion to include programs at 23 hospitals and direct shipment to the homes of children in 32 states. Raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduating from Sewickley Academy, Melinda went on to earn a BS in Business Administration from Roanoke College, in Virginia. Since then, Melinda has worked and lived in California and Illinois before settling in Delaware in 1997. Always active in politics, Melinda has held several positions in the Delaware GOP including Convention Rules Committee, Statewide Events Coordinator, New Castle County Republican Committee, Chairman’s Transition Team, and delegate. Melinda was named Republican of the Year in 2004 and has volunteered on local, county and statewide campaigns. She was on the staff of Michele Rollins’ 2010 congressional campaign as finance director. Melinda is a proud 2009 Leadership Delaware Fellow and served as the organization’s first executive director. She is a member of the board of directors of The Everett Theatre in Middletown and a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club in Rehoboth Beach. Melinda’s career and accomplishments were highlighted by Delaware Today when she was recognized in the 2017 Women in Business feature article. Melinda makes Lewes, Delaware her home with her husband, Dave. They have two grown sons, Grant and Preston, both of whom are graduates of the University of Delaware.
