"Meredith Stewart Tweedie currently serves as the Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy and Senior Counsel for ChristianaCare. Meredith manages a broad portfolio of federal and state legislative and regulatory affairs and external policy advocacy activity, which presently includes managing state legislative and regulatory matters in the four states in which ChristianaCare currently operates. Meredith’s legal work includes representing ChristianaCare in significant strategic business development matters, including recently serving as the lead attorney in negotiating one of the health system’s first full-risk Medicaid contracts. In 2019, Meredith successfully completed the Managing Health Care Delivery Executive Education program at the Harvard Business School, a three-week program including approximately 95 hours of comprehensive course work relating to the modern healthcare industry, general business strategy and the fundamentals of financial accounting.

Meredith also serves on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN), and is currently the serving as the Treasurer and a member of the DHIN Executive Committee. Meredith also serves on the Policy Committee of the Delaware Hospital Association and the Government Affairs Committee of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce.

Meredith served previously as the Chief Legal Counsel and Health Care Policy Advisor to Governor Jack Markell. In her previous role, Meredith advised Governor Markell and members of the Governor’s cabinet and senior staff on major legal and policy issues affecting the State, including advising the Governor on judicial appointments and managing high-profile litigation involving significant state interests. Prior to joining the Markell Administration, Meredith served as the State Solicitor in the Office of the Attorney General, managing the ninety (90) member Civil Division in its provision of legal advice to state cabinet agencies on all civil legal matters impacting the State of Delaware. Prior to her appointment as State Solicitor, Meredith served as the Health Law Unit Head in the Civil Division, and as a Deputy Attorney General in the Fraud and Consumer Protection Division.

Meredith began her legal career as an associate at Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A., where she worked on complex corporate and commercial litigation matters primarily in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Meredith also worked as staff attorney for the Delaware House of Representatives Democratic Caucus. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Meredith received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law."
