Michael Curry, Ed.D. Chair & Assistant Professor, Undergraduate Teacher Preparation College of Education - Wilmington University
Michael Curry is a native of Devon, Pennsylvania, but he has called Delaware his home for the past 18 years. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from University of Delaware in English Education, he spent ten years teaching English at Cape Henlopen High School where he was voted Teacher of the Year and also served as the English Department Chair. He then moved on to Delaware Technical Community College where he worked first as an English instructor and was promoted to the role of Instructional Designer where he helped faculty design, develop, and deliver face-to-face and online courses. Michael also taught faculty strategies for meaningful and engaging instruction and assessment in all course formats. Now Michael works for Wilmington University as Chair and Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Teacher Preparation, College of Education at Wilmington University. He is responsible for developing and delivering a rigorous and relevant teacher prep curriculum that can be delivered as face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. He oversees coursework, scheduling, and talent acquisition for the delivery of all courses offered online and at the Georgetown and Dover campuses. In 2016, Michael successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in Organizational Innovation and Leadership where he researched whether or not course format, specifically face-to-face, hybrid, or online course formats have an impact on student achievement. He lives in Lewes with his wife, Carolyn, and their three children, Ethan, Kate, and Bennett.
