Michael Petit de Mange, AICP Kent County Administrator

Michael J. Petit de Mange, AICP, became the County Administrator for Kent County, Delaware on April
8, 2007 after serving as the County's Planning Director for nearly 5 years. Prior to joining Kent County,
he served as Director of Planning & Inspections for the City of Dover, Delaware and as an
Associate/Branch Manager for Landmark Engineering, Incorporated. While with the City of Dover, Mr.
Petit de Mange also served a four (4) year term on the Kent County Regional Planning Commission. He
has over 35 years of experience in municipal management and regional planning. Mr. Petit de Mange, a
native Delawarean, is a graduate of the University of Delaware, and is a Certified Planner awarded by
the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association. He has held
various offices in the Delaware Chapter of the American Planning Association including Chapter
President from 1998 through 2001, and is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Dover/Kent County
Metropolitan Planning Organization Council, as a Member of the Kent Economic Partnership Board of
Directors. Mr. Petit de Mange also serves as a member of the Delaware Native Species Commission and
was recently selected to serve on the Delaware State Fair Board of Directors. Mr. Petit de Mange is a
Member and Past President of the Dover Colonial Rotary Club and is an active member of Wesley
United Methodist Church. An avid outdoor sports enthusiast, he resides in Dover with his wife Beth and
two children.
