LaMontz Hayman (Monty) is the product of the city of Wilmington where he was raised by a single mother with 4 other siblings. Monty, as he is called by many, attended public schools until the eighth grade. From the eighth grade until graduation, Monty attended Tower Hill School. Upon receiving his diploma from Tower Hill, LaMontz was accepted to Hampton University where he studied Finance. LaMontz completed Hampton University in the summer of 1991 becoming the first in his immediate and extended family to graduate from a 4 year college. Upon graduating from Hampton with a BS in Finance, LaMontz embarked on a career in banking. He began at MBNA America where he worked in many departments advancing to management. He left MBNA to secure a higher level of responsibility at Transamerica. He currently is a Branch Manager for ACA Mortgage, a local mortgage broker in Wilmington. He currently sits on 3 different boards with a focus on helping children and philanthropy. He is married to Renee Sumter and has two children, Courtney and Brooke who currently attend Tower Hill. He is presently the president of the alumni association for his high school.
