Nora Gonzalez

Nohora Gonzalez was born in Bogota, Colombia. She holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad de la Salle, an M.S. in Finance from Universidad de la Sabana and an MBA from the University of Delaware. In Colombia, Nora worked as a consultant for Oracle e-Business in addition to her involvement with independent policy-oriented research centers that analyzed structural poverty, inequality, and the prevention of recruitment and use of children by armed groups. She also served as a volunteer for various professional interdisciplinary groups that provided research for economic development. Results from those initiatives include mentoring programs that are currently in place to support business creation for young entrepreneurs, green systems implementation for flower production, and stimulation of imports and exports. In January 2007, Nora moved to United States to learn English at the English Language Institute of the University of Delaware. After graduating with distinction honors, she was encouraged to pursue an advanced degree in business at the University of Delaware’s MBA program. The enriching experience convinced her to stay in Delaware and to continue to learn as much as possible from the diverse environment to which she was exposed at the university. Nora previously worked as a Financial/Credit Analyst in the Commercial Lending Department of Artisans’ Bank. She is eager to grow her network with passionate professionals that acknowledge problems in Delaware, who simultaneously want to be part of the solution.
