Sarah Schenck, M.D., FACP is the Clinical Director of Practice Transformation for Primary Care and Community Medicine at ChristianaCare (CC).   In this role, she is responsible for optimizing clinical operations and infusing innovation into the 20 plus primary care practices within the system.  She is a strong believer in team-based and patient-centered care.  Under her leadership, ChristianaCare became the first in the state to earn the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) certification as a multi-site Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) in 2013.

Prior to returning to her home state of Delaware in 2007, Dr. Schenck worked as primary care physician in Boston, Massachusetts where she served as Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School. Her passion for teaching primary care to medical students and residents evolved, and she ultimately became the Medical Director of the Internal Medicine Resident and Faculty clinic at CC as well as the Section Chief for Ambulatory Medicine before being promoted to her current position.  Today, Dr. Schenck practices primary care at Wilson Primary Care at Christina Care and remains dedicated to improving primary care for patients, learners and caregivers.

Dr. Schenck earned a B.A. as an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia. She earned her Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College and then completed her residency training in Internal Medicine/Women’s Health at the Medical College of Virginia.
