Stephen is a native of South Jersey, but has been a resident of Delaware for almost ten years. However, he has a unique familiarity with Delaware as a Tower Hill School and University of Delaware alum. His formal studies also include Western International University, and Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Throughout his professional career, he has successfully overseen the strategic implementation and execution of business operations for multi-million dollar corporations and non-profit organizations spanning the financial, health and wellness, medical, and education sectors. Stephen’s previous employers include Chase Bank, Bally Total Fitness Corporation, the American College of Physicians and the International Literacy Association. With a strategic philosophical approach based on data, analytics, process improvement, and maximizing operational efficiencies, Stephen’s work has led to numerous new product development strategies and revenue opportunities, consistently reduced operational expenses, increased visibility and consumer awareness, and increased strategic collaborations and partnerships.
Stephen was recently selected to lead the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation and now serves as its Executive Director. As Executive Director Stephen is responsible for directing critical initiatives that support the mission of the foundation to ensure that Delaware continually reinvents itself to become a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Specifically, he will oversee the foundation’s two major initiatives; presentation of the Pete du Pont Freedom Award and identification of innovative, impactful ideas that enhance Delaware through the Reinventing Delaware event series, and continue to grow the foundation through fundraising, revenue generating, and brand visibility activities. The Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation brings together thought leaders and doers to identify bold ideas, connect resources, and collectively engage to make Delaware a better place. In his spare time, Stephen volunteers as a youth football coach and has led several teams to league and regional championships. Stephen is also a certified fitness trainer specializing in sports performance training, performance enhancement, and leadership development.
