Kelly Wetzel Basile DE State Chamber of Commerce

Kelly Basile graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in international relations. She now works for the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, the most influential business organization in the state. As the events manager, Kelly works to promote an economic climate that strengthens the competitiveness of Delaware businesses through managing the Small Business Alliance whose participants comprise more than 80% of the State Chamber’s membership, advising 400 members of the Delaware Young Professionals Network and organizing more than 100 weekly State Chamber events and meetings. She is responsible for the Superstars in Business program, which recognizes outstanding small businesses in Delaware, and also runs Delaware Principal for a Day, a program that fosters more than 100 partnerships between business and school leaders each year.
In Kelly’s spare time, she participates on the Delaware Humane Association’s special events committee and serves as a board member for Wilmington Renaissance Corporation and the William P. Frank Scholarship Fund, which runs the First State Gridiron Dinner & Show. Kelly also teaches ice skating lessons at the University of Delaware and competes on a nationally ranked synchronized ice skating team.
