Tariq Hook Co-Founder / Code Differently

Tariq Hook serves as the Co-Founder of Code Differently. He previously served as the Director of Technology and Education for Zip Code Wilmington Coding School. Zip Code is a nonprofit technical program that focuses on creating educational pathways to technology positions for non-traditional
diverse candidates. In his role, he is responsible for leading the educational staff, and developing the curriculum for all the programs offered.

He is also a member of the advisory board and technical lead for Open Bracket Delaware. Open Bracket is a nonprofit organization that holds an annual event centered around technology, software development and competition. Open Bracket’s goal is to brand Delaware as a desirable destination for
developers and technologist around the United States, to relocate to for professional opportunities.

Prior to his current roles located in Delaware, he spent 15 years as a software engineer in Philadelphia. In addition to software engineering, he also worked for five years as a Teacher for Temple University’s College of Engineering MESA program. In his role working for Temple, he was responsible for creating curriculum and programs for minority high school and college freshman students, to get them interested in STEM majors and careers.
