Lisa J.F. Ramone grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, before traveling to Sao Paulo, Brazil as an international student. After two years in Brazil, she graduated from Associacao Escola Graduada de Sao Paulo, and then, returned to Newark to attend the University of Delaware. She graduated in 1983 with a B.A. in Sociology and Communication.

Married in the early 80’s, Lisa, alongside her husband, Michael, built a successful Flower Shop business to eventually include a wholesale house in Wilmington; the Wilmington Florist Exchange. During those early years, Lisa also worked in marketing for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware, then as an independent contractor with Mid-Atlantic Health Systems as a health insurance plan educator.

A lifelong swim coach and mentor to children, Lisa has worked side-by-side with her husband, Michael, for over 35 years. Lisa is co-founder and co-owner of businesses which employ over 200 people throughout the year. These businesses serve the local community, as well as the tri-state region, and include; BC Communities, AMS -Aquatic Management Systems, Ramone’s Landscaping, The Delaware Swim and Fitness Centers of New Castle and Pike Creek, The Delaware Swim School, and The Delaware Swim Team. Lisa also oversees and manages the family real estate property rental businesses; BNR Investment, LLC, & Ramone Real Estate Holdings, LLC.

Lisa is an advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, past member of the Board of Trustees of The Independence School, and the Yes U Can™ Corporation. She is also an ordained minister. She continues to teach water safety and swim lessons to children and adults of all ages.

As the wife of a State Representative, Lisa loves the state and the variety of community service work in which they are involved. The 21st Representative District is paramount in her politically charged life and has kept her engaged and interested in the Leadership Delaware program since it’s inception. Policy, politics and creating well educated, dynamic and thoughtful leaders is high on her list of priorities and will remain an important part of Lisa’s mantra for many years to come.
