Joseph Jones, Ed.D Superintendent / New Castle County Vo-Tech School District

Jones joined the NCC Vo-Tech School District as an assistant principal at Howard High School of Technology in 2005. He was named principal at Delcastle Technical High School in 2006, where he served until being promoted to his current position in 2013.

He has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware and a master’s in school administration from Wilmington University.
Jones said among his career accomplishments, he is most proud of his ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, staff and the community.

He was named Delaware Principal of the Year in 2010 and is the past president of the Delaware Association of School Administrators. This past year, he co-authored the book, "Candid and Compassionate Feedback: Transforming Everyday Practice in Schools."

At NCC Vo-Tech, Jones will oversee an annual budget of $82 million to operate four high schools – Delcastle, Hodgson, Howard, and St. Georges – and a comprehensive adult education division.
