Terry M. Murphy, FACHE President & Chief Executive Officer / Bayhealth
Terry M. Murphy received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Belmont Abbey in 1982 and a master’s degree in health services administration from The George Washington University in 1985. He was appointed president and chief executive officer of Bayhealth, Inc., and president and chief executive officer of Bayhealth Medical Center, Inc., in October 2009, after holding previous titles as Bayhealth Medical Center executive vice president and chief operating officer and, prior, vice president of Bayhealth’s southern region. Murphy is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Bayhealth Kent and Sussex Hospitals. He currently serves as chairman of the Bayhealth Medical Center Board, vice chairman of the Board of Trustees for the University of Delaware and a member of the Delaware Business Roundtable. Murphy is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. In 2008, he was recognized with Regent’s Award for Senior-Level Healthcare Executives from the American College of Healthcare Executives.
