Tracey Duffy

Tracey Duffy Sergeant, New Castle County Police Department

Tracey Duffy, a Delaware native, is a 19-year veteran of the New Castle County Division of Police and is currently a spokesperson for the Division and assigned to the Public Information Office as a Sergeant. She is also a Delaware Army National Guard veteran. During her 19-year career, Tracey has held several positions within the department which includes, training coordinator, personnel officer, public information officer (PIO), auxiliary Behavioral Health Unit officer and a Community Engagement Specialist.

Tracey graduated from Delaware State University with a B.A. in Sociology (Criminal Justice) and later obtained her Master’s in Social Work from Widener University with a certificate in Trauma.

She is the recipient of a Multiplying Good Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service, Director’s Award, Chief’s Citation, Commendation of Merit, Distinguished Unit Citation, Kiwanis Police Officer of the 2nd Quarter (2020) and Community Policing Award.

Tracey is also a certified police instructor, member of the Veterans Response Team (VRT), Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and Critical Incident Stress Management Team Member (CISM).

Outside of her duties as a police officer, Tracey spends her time volunteering as a listener with ContactLifeline, a suicide prevention hotline. She enjoys the outdoors and leads outdoor activities as a leader with OutdoorAfro. In addition to volunteering, Tracey also hosts an annual “Police and Princess Ball” with girls throughout New Castle County. She is also a mother who enjoys travel, the beach, and British mysteries.
